How does IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) work?

  • For Hair Removal
  • For Vascular Lesions Removal
  • For Acne Treatment
  • For Skin Rejuvenation

This technology works by emitting a flash of high intensity light which then penetrates the epidermis and is absorbed and assimilated in the hair bulbous region. The light is deposited in line with the position of the hair follicles and acts as inhibitor to the hair follicle through temporary temperature rise and agglutination. The light flash causes the following effects:

  • Coagulation of the hair follicle cells.
  • Triggers the Ca+2 pumps of un-coagulated matrix cells to hyper exertion, resulting in exhaustion of the cell's ATP (an energy molecule) pool. This inhibits cell metabolism resulting in less cortex cells, and in turn, fewer and weaker hairs.
  • Clotting of the blood vein in the hair follicle capillaries. The clotting disturbs the blood flow to the hair follicle resulting in the deterioration of the follicle's cell.

The light pulse treats "spider" like capillaries, which are small purple or red veins that stretch like a web near the surface of the skin and are typically discoloured clusters. IPL treatment of capillaries has two levels:

  1. The layer of clotted blood is broken allowing for free blood flow through the capillaries and therefore the disappearance of the purple colour seen near the surface of the skin.
  2. The collagen layer is stimulated to produce more collagen, resulting in wider skin and concealed veins.
This treatment is able to effectively treat Vulgaris, Conglobata and Rosasecea Acne. Acne is born when the opening of the hair follicle is blocked. Bacteria is then trapped in the hair follicle and begins to multiply rapidly. As the body's immune system attempts to fight these bacteria, inflammation begins and acne appears. The intensive light releases an oxygenator which eliminates the bacteria and bacterial activity. This relieves the inflammation and acne, and leaves you with soft and healthy skin.
Low light energy inserted into cells proliferates and stimulates collagen production and induces collagen and elastic tissue synthesis, thus rejuvenating the skin.
